Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (225 g) all purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp (8 g) baking powder
  • ½ tsp (2 g) salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup (220 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt room temperature
  • 1 tsp (4g) vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (190 g) whole milk room temperature
  • 1 cup (180 g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Prepare an 8 ½ in x 4 ½ in loaf pan by greasing it and lining with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed until fluffy and light in color, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  • Mix in the eggs, vanilla extract, and Greek yogurt, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • On low speed, mix in ½ of the dry ingredient mixture, followed by ½ of the milk. Repeat with remaining dry ingredients, followed by remaining milk.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. Top with a few more chocolate chips, if desired.
  • Bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Cool before slicing. Enjoy!
