Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9x5 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar for about 3-5 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Mix in the eggs, one by one. Once combined, stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream.
Add the salt, baking soda, and flour. Stir to combine.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and bake at 350℉ for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown on top and a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack and cooling completely. Enjoy!
