Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup (80 g) dark chocolate chop finely or use chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp (4 g) vanilla
  • 1 tsp (2 g) instant espresso powder optional
  • ½ tsp (2 g) salt
  • ¾ cup (100 g) all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (30 g) cocoa powder
  • ½ cup (80 g) chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease or line an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter and chopped dark chocolate together.
  • Once the butter and chocolate are completely melted, transfer them to a mixing bowl and stir in the granulated sugar.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly before whisking in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in the espresso powder (if using) and salt.
  • Add the flour and cocoa powder and stir until combined. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake the brownies at 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
  • Let the brownies cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If using a 9x9 inch baking pan, bake the brownies at 350°F for about 25 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
